The “If” in Life
If tears come…
Remember God is acquainted with your pain.
“…He was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed.” Isaiah 53:5 NLT
And He has made a way in the future for sadness to be no more. The Bible says,
“He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.” Revelation 21:4 NLT
If fear sets in…
Remember those feelings are not from God.
“For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.” 2 Timothy 1:7 NLT
If the heaviness feels too much to bear…
Remember God is capable of carrying your unwanted load.
“Give all your worries and cares to God, for He cares about you.” 1 Peter 5:7 NLT
If you feel like giving up…
Remember the race is worth running.
“Hold firmly to the word of life; then, on the day of Christ’s return, [you] will be proud that [you] did not run the race in vain and that [your] work was not useless.” Philippians 2:16 NLT
If you want to run and hide…
Instead, find refuge in God’s embrace.
“He will cover you with His feathers. He will shelter you with His wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection.” Psalms 91:4 NLT
If no one seems to understand…
Remember God does.
“This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for He faced all of the same testings we do, yet He did not sin.” Hebrews 4:15 NLT
If you feel alone…
Remember Your Heavenly Father has not abandoned you, and He will finish what He started.
“…I am with you, and I will protect you wherever you go. One day I will bring you back to this land. I will not leave you until I have finished giving you everything I have promised you.” Genesis 28:15 NLT
“Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in Me. When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with Me where I am.” John 14:1, 3 NLT
If it gets hard to breathe…
Remember God is bigger than the devil and allow yourself to exhale.
“When You give them Your breath, life is created, and You renew the face of the earth.” Psalms 104:30 NLT
“For the Spirit of God has made me, and the breath of the Almighty gives me life.” Job 33:4 NLT
Because you can trust God with your life, you can also share this understanding with the world.
“In my distress I prayed to the Lord, and the Lord answered me and set me free. The Lord is for me, so I will have no fear. What can mere people do to me? I will not die; instead, I will live to tell what the Lord has done.” Psalms 118:5-6, 17 NLT
The good news is there is no “if” the Lord cannot handle or see you through. That is why you can proclaim in confidence,
“This is the day the Lord has made. [I] will rejoice and be glad in it.” Psalms 118:24 NLT
No matter the if!
