God’s Goodness

Genesis 8-11

We often think God is slow to answer our cries for help or need of relief from our current sinful state; however, God’s timing is not the same as ours. Do you realize, Noah was 600 years old at the time of the flood? That means he lived more than 12x as long as I already have. For years, he watched wickedness flourish around him, before God finally said, “ENOUGH!” There was never a moment God didn’t see the evil and injustice which felt overwhelming and unstoppable to Noah; but, the story God is writing has always been one intended to span the ages. God had to allow bad to happen in relation to giving us choice, so we would understand His goodness and grace. That’s what love looks like, even when we don’t understand the whys and the wait.
