God’s Vision for His People
Exodus 1-3
”Eventually, a new king came to power in Egypt who knew nothing about Joseph or what he had done.“ Exodus 1:8 NLT Amazing how all these years later we’re still sharing Joseph’s story, but this new king knew nothing about him. If only he had known Joseph’s God.
”But the more the Egyptians oppressed them, the more the Israelites multiplied and spread, and the more alarmed the Egyptians became. So the Egyptians worked the people of Israel without mercy.“ Exodus 1:12-13 NLT Seems time hasn’t changed the human reaction to fear. If you don’t understand it, you must control it. Sad, really.
But, despite Pharaoh’s need to suppress the Israelites, the Holy Spirit triumphed in the lives of the midwives. ”But because the midwives feared God, they refused to obey the king’s orders. They allowed the boys to live, too.” Exodus 1:17 NLT And because of this, Moses enters into the vision of how God’s people would be saved.
