Genesis 12-15
If you’ve ever wondered if God cares about the relationships you’re in and how they affect you, take a look at this verse. “I will bless those who bless you and curse those who treat you with contempt….” Genesis 12:3 NLT
Even after Abram screws up, lying about Sarai being his sister instead of His wife, God still chooses to bless him—though, not right away. “SOME TIME LATER (emphasis mine; I’m sure God waited for Abram’s heart to be humble, open, and receptive), the Lord spoke to Abram in a vision and said to him, ‘Do not be afraid, Abram, for I will protect you, and your reward will be great.’” Genesis 15:1 NLT Notice: God didn’t inform Abram to expect something small; He promises something great, and God made good on His promise!
“Then the Lord took Abram outside and said to him, ‘Look up into the sky and count the stars if you can. That’s how many descendants you will have!’” Genesis 15:5 NLT
