A Servant’s Heart

“The greatest among you must be a servant.” Matthew‬ ‭23‬:‭11‬ ‭NLT‬‬

One of my first jobs had me working as a front desk receptionist for a major corporation. When called in for my yearly review, the heads of the company asked, “Where do you see yourself in five years?” I honestly answered, “Hopefully, still enjoying my job working here.” They couldn’t understand why I didn’t want to climb the corporate ladder, taking on bigger roles. Genuinely? I didn’t need those positions to feel successful. I have always been one to be “down in the trenches,” working with people. That’s where I feel at home. I thank God every day for the opportunities He gives me to serve others. I also pray God always keeps me focused on having a servant’s heart. I don’t want that to change.
