Blessing or Wrath?

Numbers 31 & 32
“Then the Lord said to Moses, ‘On behalf of the people of Israel, take revenge on the Midianites for leading them into idolatry. After that, you will die and join your ancestors.’” Numbers 31:1-2 NLT How weird would that be to actually know when you’re going to die? How would that change how you live today?
“The plunder remaining from everything the fighting men had taken…” included “32,000 virgin girls.” Numbers 31:32, 35 NLT Am I the only one who thinks that this is such a high number compared to what they’d likely find today?
“Then all the generals and captains came to Moses and said, ‘We, your servants, have accounted for all the men who went out to battle under our command; not one of us is missing!’” Numbers 31:48-49 NLT How amazing is that? But as generous and gracious as God appeared, He also withheld blessings when His orders went unfollowed. “The Lord was angry with Israel and made them wander in the wilderness for forty years until the entire generation that sinned in the Lord’s sight had died.” Numbers 32:13 NLT
