Leviticus 16-18

”Aaron will present his own bull as a sin offering to purify himself and his family, making them right with the Lord. …Then Aaron must slaughter the first goat as a sin offering for the people….” Leviticus‬ ‭16‬:‭11‬, ‭15‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Notice: God’s instructions to Aaron sound very similar to a flight attendant’s before take off. “If needed, oxygen masks will be released overhead. To start the flow of oxygen, reach up and pull the mask toward you, fully extending the plastic tubing. …Be sure to secure your own mask before assisting others.” Why focus on your basic needs before turning your attention toward others? Sounds a little selfish until you really look at it. Without being connected to your lifeline, you quickly run out of resources to help those around you. God instructed Aaron to get his house in order first, THEN his focus could shift to those in his community. I believe God’s intentionality sets a great example for us to follow.
