No Records of Wrong

”Love…keeps no record of wrongs.“ 1 Corinthians‬ ‭13‬:‭4‬-‭5‬ ‭NIV‬‬

This text sat funny with me until I processed my thoughts and realized I believe there’s more than one type of “forgetting wrongs.” Some types of remembering keeps us from re-entering unhealthy relationships and dangerous situations. I don’t believe God is telling us to put aside every aspect of our memories that will protect us in future encounters. However, He also doesn’t want us to live in a state of anger, bitterness, and constant fear. There’s a fine line with this Biblical instruction. Taking it in prayer before God, though, I know He will help us let go of everything that keeps us from having an authentic relationship with Him and those around us. With God, all things are possible. (Matthew 19:26)
