Two Sides to Every Pancake

The older I get, the less I’m able to tolerate drama in my life, and the less I want to have to handle any roller coasters these unbalanced emotions present. I’m not sure where this learned behavior comes from—TV? Movies? Social media? (Though, let’s be honest, it was around long before any of that came into existence.) It’s a well known fact: hurting people hurt people. How different would our world look if each of us took time to respond with kindness instead of becoming confrontational the moment something doesn’t go our way or happen within the timeframe of our liking? Paraphrasing Dr. Phil McGraw: “There’s always two sides to a pancake, no matter how flat you make it.” We definitely need to focus on extending grace. It’s something I’m still working on. Thankfully, God’s not finished with me, yet.

“But God’s Spirit causes us to live in a different way. We love other people. We are happy and we have peace in our minds. We are patient, kind and good. People can trust us to do what is right.” ‭‭Galatians‬ ‭5‬:‭22‬ ‭Easy English Translation
