God Regrets

1 Samuel 15-17

”But Samuel replied, ‘What is more pleasing to the Lord: your burnt offerings and sacrifices or your obedience to His voice? Listen! Obedience is better than sacrifice, and submission is better than offering the fat of rams. Rebellion is as sinful as witchcraft, and stubbornness as bad as worshiping idols. So because you have rejected the command of the Lord, He has rejected you as king.’” 1 Samuel‬ ‭15‬:‭22‬-‭23‬ ‭NLT‬‬ What a strong reprimand, but necessary!

”Samuel never went to meet with Saul again, but he mourned constantly for him. And the Lord was sorry He had ever made Saul king of Israel.“

‭‭1 Samuel‬ ‭15‬:‭35‬ ‭NLT‬‬ This is such a hard scenario to fathom. God regretting His decision to place Saul over Israel? Makes me believe He must choose to stay in the present when making decisions concerning our lives, even though He could be omnipresent, as that allows us choice and the possibility of failing and not choosing Christ. Something to ponder. I hope God never has reason to make that same declaration about me.
