As we know, Absalom lived an unruly, hateful life. His bad attitude ultimately lead to his demise. Makes me wonder what kind of discipline he had growing up, as the Bible says this about his younger brother, Adonijah, who had a similar entitlement about him. ”Now his father, King David, had never disciplined him at any time, even by asking, ‘Why are you doing that?’ Adonijah had been born next after Absalom, and he was very handsome.“ ‭‭1 Kings‬ ‭1‬:‭6‬ ‭NLT‬‬ Appears his looks helped add to his arrogance.

But, then along came Solomon with great wisdom, understanding, and knowledge. Even though Adonijah tried to steal the throne from

Solomon, Bathsheba went before David and had David confirm, ”Your son Solomon will be the next king and will sit on my throne this very day, just as I vowed to you before the Lord, the God of Israel.” 1 Kings‬ ‭1‬:‭30‬ ‭NLT‬‬ God protects His chosen ones.
