Not Wholeheartedly
2 Chronicles 25-27
“Amaziah did what was pleasing in the Lord’s sight, but not wholeheartedly.” 2 Chronicles 25:2 NLT Is it just me, or are these some of the saddest words written in history? “But not wholeheartedly.” What kind of rollercoaster life he must’ve lived to not have dedicated his true whole self to God’s calling. Lukewarm commitment to anything is a miserable state of existing. Satisfaction and contentment don’t reside in a person whose allegiance is only to one’s self.
“…God will overthrow you, for He has the power to help you or to trip you up.” 2 Chronicles 25:8 NLT I don’t believe for one second God enjoys tripping us up. But I do believe that He uses His power appropriately, no matter how much we don’t agree with the outcome or the tactics He has to resort to in order to get our attention.
