Peacocks & Apes
2 Chronicles 9-12
“The king had a fleet of trading ships of Tarshish manned by the sailors sent by Hiram. Once every three years the ships returned, loaded with gold, silver, ivory, apes, and peacocks.”
2 Chronicles 9:21 NLT Interesting. Gold, silver, ivory, those make sense. But apes and peacocks? They were important enough to be documented in the Bible. Now I’m curious as to why.
“Solomon had 4,000 stalls for his horses and chariots, and he had 12,000 horses….” 2 Chronicles 9:25 NLT Those were some pretty big stalls. I did the math. That’s approximately 333 horses per stall.
