Trumpet-playing Priests
Nehemiah 12 & 13
“We went together with the trumpet-playing priests—Eliakim, Maaseiah, Miniamin, Micaiah, Elioenai, Zechariah, and Hananiah—Many sacrifices were offered on that joyous day, for God had given the people cause for great joy. The women and children also participated in the celebration, and the joy of the people of Jerusalem could be heard far away.” Nehemiah 12:41, 43 NLT
What a neat mental image. Not just ordinary priests. These were trumpet-playing priests, documented in history. And a joy exuded so loud from the people it could be heard at a distance. That’s some serious celebrating!
