Listen Closely

Job 21-23

“Listen closely to what I am saying. That’s one consolation you can give me.” Job‬ ‭21‬:‭2‬ ‭NLT‬‬ Ever felt like that—that you just need someone to listen to you? No judgement. No words of wisdom. Just two listening ears to hear your pain and understand your need to vent.

I don’t know about you, but I have felt this way, too: “‘Well,’ you say, ‘at least God will punish their children!’ But I say He should punish the ones who sin, so that they understand His judgment. Let them see their destruction with their own eyes. Let them drink deeply of the anger of the Almighty. For they will not care what happens to their family after they are dead.” Job‬ ‭21‬:‭19‬-‭21‬ ‭NLT‬‬ This is when we have to trust that God knows what we don’t, otherwise He’d behave the way we think is fair in that moment.
