Why Must the Godly Wait?
Job 24-28
Ever felt like this? “Why doesn’t the Almighty bring the wicked to judgment? Why must the godly wait for Him in vain?” Job 24:1
Ever experience this? (Verse 9): “The wicked snatch a widow’s child from her breast, taking the baby as security for a loan.” I’ve had my children taken from me, having done nothing wrong. I know the injustice of someone throwing power around simply to control me.
In the moments where we don’t understand the why, cling to this. “God, in His power, drags away the rich. They may rise high, but they have no assurance of life. They may be allowed to live in security, but God is always watching them.”
Job 24:22-23 NLT God is not fooled. He may need to let choices play out, but He has the final say, along with redemption power.
We will learn in Joel 2:25 NLT, “The Lord says, ‘I will give you back what you lost to the swarming locusts, the hopping locusts, the stripping locusts, and the cutting locusts. It was I who sent this great destroying army against you.’” He can be trusted.
