The Fragrance

Matthew 26

“While [Jesus] was eating, a woman came in with a beautiful alabaster jar of expensive perfume and poured it over His head.” Matthew‬ ‭26‬:‭7‬ ‭NLT‬‬ You know, I’ve always thought this woman’s actions to be very special, but whenever I actually envision being in the room with Jesus, I don’t think “what a waste” like the disciples did, I catch myself imagining what it must’ve been like inhaling the strong aroma filling the air. But maybe my hyper-sensory input wouldn’t have been an issue if I’d been born in a different place and time. Maybe the smell wouldn’t have bothered me at all or given me an instant headache like it would now. Makes me wonder.
