Virgin Mary
Matthew 1-4
“When Joseph woke up, he did as the angel of the Lord commanded and took Mary as his wife. But he did not have sexual relations with her until her son was born. And Joseph named him Jesus.” Matthew 1:24-25 NLT I found a little humor reading this passage this time. Can’t you imagine Joseph coming to Mary for the first time to have intercourse AFTER Jesus was born—Mary now a mother and technically still an inexperienced virgin? Awkward!
“After His baptism, as Jesus came up out of the water, the heavens were opened and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and settling on Him. And a voice from heaven said, ‘This is my dearly loved Son, who brings me great joy.’” Matthew 3:16-17 NLT I’ve always thought this would’ve been an awesome, glorious sight to behold. But was Jesus the only one who saw this, or did those around Him see it, too?
