Blessed with Food and Water
As many of you probably know by now, I have struggled with my health for the past ten years. Tachycardia. Bradycardia. High blood pressure. Low blood pressure. Brain fog then clarity. I’ve been bouncing through life’s uncertainties like a ping-pong ball ricocheting off wooden paddles. When you’re living the rollercoaster life, it’s hard not wondering where your next breath is going to come from, sometimes literally. Maybe that’s why I found comfort in these verses. God says in Exodus 23:25-26 NLT, “You must serve only the Lord your God. If you do, I will bless you with food and water, and I will protect you from illness. …I will give you long, full lives.”
Being a Covid survivor, after almost dying of acute respiratory distress August 1, 2021, and completely changing my diet in order to breathe–ya’ll know fresh food ain’t cheap these days!!–I can say with certainty God provides all the food and water we need when we trust Him with the hard choices and inconveniences of doing what we know is right, including our eating habits. Not only did He make our bodies to heal, He wants us to be well and has provided a way for that to happen.
“I will exalt you, Lord, for You rescued me. …I cried to You for help, and You restored my health.” Psalms 30: 1 & 2 NLT
Amen! This is so encouraging for those that are fearful of changing their diets.
I couldn’t agree more. It’s easy to give God excuses when looking at the financial side of things. There’s always a reason why making life-changing decisions can wait until “later.” But God wants to bless us with SO MUCH MORE now! Trust and faith allows us to go all in. God owns ALL the sheep on a thousand hills. He’ll make it happen if that’s what He wants/requires of us. Have a blessed weekend!
