Quality of Light

Things aren’t always what they seem. I thought I was purchasing a certain dress online earlier this month. I had smiled when seeing the photos on my computer screen. Cream. Taupe. Different shades of rose. Colors I like and seek after, drawing me to this particular dress. Imagine my surprise when the dress arrived in the mail this week presenting itself in various shades of soft baby pink and white. I questioned its validity, so I called the seller. She confirmed it couldn’t be a mistake, she didn’t have any other similar dresses. I had received the right one. That’s when God turned my disappointment into a lesson: the light in which you view an object will determine your perception. Through Bible study and prayer, we must shine God’s light on our lives, making sure we get an accurate depiction of our current surroundings so our decisions aren’t skewed and so we may be grounded in truth.

PRAYER FOR TODAY: “Let your roots grow down into Him, and let your lives be built on Him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness.” Colossians 2:7 NLT
