After Judas

Acts 1-3

“Judas had bought a field with the money he received for his treachery. Falling headfirst there, his body split open, spilling out all his intestines.” Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭1‬:‭18 NLT This is the first we hear real details of Judas’ death. Interestingly, I’ve always understood Judas to have returned the money at the temple due to his shame. Never realized before reading my Bible cover to cover that he actually bought something with the bribe money, and eventually died there.

Verse 26‬ then tells of how the disciples chose a replacement for Judas: “Then they cast lots, and Matthias was selected to become an apostle with the other eleven.”
